Fourth of July Weekend!

So Kyle graduated on the 30th from the academy and is now officially working at the prison! Yay! We have had lots of fun with grandparents coming to visit for the big event and what not!! Grandma Celauro came for the graduation and we had lots of fun with her here! She and I did some shopping along the way and this was Kellen after a bbq that we had... he was exhausted!! He didn't get much sleep during the day if you couldn't tell!


We went to Carter's because they were having a huge sale on a lot of stuff and I really wanted to get Kellen a cute outfit for 4th of July. So they had a really cute swim set for like $10 or something! I was excited so I got it! This was on the 4th of July after having a prett crazy weekend!! We had a big bbq on saturday with some friends from Jersey that live in UT, and then a big family bbq on Sunday! So We spent the 4th relaxing for most of the day because we were all pretty exhausted! Kellen passed out upstairs and he just looked so cute when I went and checked on him :)


Later that night Brittany and Alivia came over of course! Can't do fireworks without the girlfriend! ;) They had fun like always hanging out before the fireworks. We had gone to Olive Garden for dinner before with Brittany's husband Chris, but he and Kyle worked really early the next morning and they live in Bountiful so he decided to ditch and go home to bed. So Brittany and Alivia had a big sleepover :) It was so fun!


Kyle decided to stay up for the fireworks *big fighter* :) so he could spend more time with us. Kellen was really funny with the first few fireworks. Everytime one would go off he would open his mouth really wide and whisper "W-o-w" really slow and drawn out. It was adorable!!


At first Alivia was really scared of the fireworks just clinging onto mommy! But after watching Kellen say "wow" a few times she started doing the same thing! It was so cute! Kellen was there to make her feel better :) What a gentleman!!


After a few fireworks Kellen was just ready to go play, even though it was late, he just wanted to go run! He became extremely squirmy so we just let him go. He immediately ran right into the wet grass and was running all over the place!


And of course he even found the puddle from the sprinklers! But at least he was in his cute little swim outfit!


He would run back to us and watch the fireworks for a second and clap to the fireworks while saying "wow" haha it was funny. He's definitely a character!!


Near the end of the fireworks we saw some of our neighbors who we don't really know that well, but they have a little pit bull puppy who is just ADORABLE! Trax kept wanting to play but Trax isn't usually very nice to dogs so we just let Kellen play and he was just having a BALL! He LOVES dogs!! Especially smaller ones that are closer to his size!!!


So we had a really fun filled weekend!! Lots more pictures on other people's cameras so hopefully we'll get some more of those from them so we can see all that really went on that weekend!!!

Splash Pad Fun!!

We went to the Riverdale Splash Pad a couple weeks ago to see if Kellen would like it. We went with Alivia again since they love playing together!!



Kellen couldn't wait to get in the water!! He was squirming like crazy while I was trying to get his sunblock on! As soon as I let him free he ran to the edge and looked at the water for a minute and charged right in!!




Alivia on the other hand.... Not so much! She was holding on to mommy a lot she wasn't nearly as fond of it as Kellen! She liked the little Mushroom one which was her size and that's where she stayed the majority of the day :)



Every once in a while Alivia would venture off for a bit though and with mommy by her side she would try new things :)





They had so much fun while we were there!! They both really liked the mushrooms so that was where they would play together for the most part.




There was one point where Kellen was checking out the older women at the splash pad! She kept moving where he was trying to get the water and he thought it was really funny for a little bit until he started getting annoyed.... women... haha.



By the end, this is how Kellen let us know he was done. He started "sunbathing" in his own interesting way... he sat like this for probably at least two minutes. It was so funny! So now this is how he lets me know he is done.

Hogle Zoo!

Our friends Brittany and Chris have a season pass to the Hogle Zoo and their daughter Alivia and Kellen are good friends ;) So we all went a couple weeks ago!! Kellen loves animals so he had such a blast!!! We bought him a cute little Hogle Zoo hat but had to distract him with his drink so he would forget about it (at least for a few minutes!)



While Kellen was drinking his drink he was in his stroller and Alivia was walking for a little bit and kept coming up to the stroller to see Kellen it was funny :) But made Kellen want to get out and walk of course! lol



Kyle put Kellen on his shoulders for some of the day and of course Kellen loved it!! It helped him see the elephants and any other animals that were hard to see, and he also loves slapping daddy on the head :) Mommy can't put him on her shoulders because he just pulls her hair, but daddy's head is fun to slap apparently!!!



They have a carousel ride there and of course Kellen wanted to go on it!! We were watching it for a little while and he just sat there grinning and pointing the whole time haha so we finally went on and he had SO much fun! Alivia wouldn't go on without mommy behind her and then just sat back against Brittany the whole time but Kellen got right on and held on sitting up I didn't even have to hold him! ( i did but i didn't really NEED to lol) He literally had a big open mouth grin the ENTIRE ride!! it was so fun! Kyle stayed off to take picture but the rest of us went on. Once the ride was over I tried getting him off and he got so mad! He held on SO tight i was trying to pull him and he was horizontal holding on for dear life haha I wish we would have gotten a picture but it was so funny! Finally I had to pry his fingers off the pole and he was crying it was sad! He loved it!





Kellen loved going up to the glass and looking at the animals, he would always turn around with this huge smile with a look like "Mom! Do you see that??" I LOVE that look :)



Near the gorilla's they have a huge statue gorilla and Kellen and Alivia were playing on it. When we tried getting the pictures Kellen was just smilin away but poor Alivia wasn't having it!




Kellen's favorite animal was probably the giraffe's :) They were eating the grass pretty close to us and Kellen loved it!!!! I did too haha giraffe's are awesome :)



After the zoo and the kids were exhausted! we all went to the old spaghetti factory to eat dinner and the kids are so funny every time we go out to eat, they love playing and stealing each other's food, here's a perfect example!





We'll definitely be going back to the zoo! Kellen had such a blast and it was such a nice family day which we don't get all that often anymore!

Mother's Day Card :)

Quick post! At the daycare I work at all the classes did some sort of Mother's Day craft for the mothers, this is the one that Kellen made for mommy! My first Mother's Day present from my handsome boy! Love him to death!!!

Kellen and I a couple weeks ago went to Bountiful to see his girlfriend since her mommy and I are friends. Conveniently both kids were wearing green!! It was adorable haha and unplanned! Love it... Anyway, we decided to go to this cute little park near their house and have a picnic, Alivia and Kellen just played there for ever having a blast!! Kellen was following Alivia everywhere and there was a few times where he would catch up and run into her haha....





I gave Alivia part of Kellen's peanut butter and jelly sandwich expecting her to take bites and instead, she shoved the entire thing in her mouth!! Oh my, it was so funny!! Here she is, trying to chew.... trying...


Brittany decided to go under the playground and put her fingers through the holes and Kellen and Alivia though it was the coolest thing ever! Especially Kellen! He didn't get tired of it for a long time!



Then we took the kids on the slides and they loved it! After one or two times Kellen was trying to push himself off before I was even holding his hand! That is by far his favorite thing thus far!! He thought it was fun having Alivia slide next to him too :) There was one point where they even tried to hold hands :) Oooh la la! So cute!!!





Anyway!! It was a blast and we can't wait to go play at the park again! Next time we're going to go somewhere with swings for sure!! I think Kellen will LOVE swings!!! Till next time!

Here goes the catch up!

Alrighty, now that i'm out of school for the summer I actually have some time on my hands to catch up on my blog! My summer goal is to actually keep it updated... wish me luck since i'm horrible at these kinds of things!

Kellen just turned one year old on the 8th! He is getting so big and is so much fun! He started walking at 10 1/2 months and is now a pro. He's trying to run and falls a lot but is very very close. His first birthday was really fun even though the party itself was a bust, nobody showed up :( But he isn't old enough to care or realize that nobody came so at least he had fun!! Mommy smushed his face in the cake and he just devoured it!! He was loving it and pushed his own face into the cake a few times on his own!! I made the cake with my sisters help and we were rushed so it wasn't exactly what I had in mind but it still worked. Here are some fun pictures from his birthday!








For Kellen's one year appointment he was only 17.15 lbs. Not even on the charts for his weight!! He is in the 60th percentile for his height at 30 inches and his poor tiny head is only in the 5%! But he's cute and little as ever!! He's still healthy and eating so they weren't worried about his weight. He does have anemia so he is now on iron supplement for 6 weeks so hopefully it helps!

He got the Measles Mumps and Rubella vaccine at his appointment and they said that he might get a rash. Well he definitely did get a rash!! It started this last Friday and has gotten worse and worse, practically his entire body is one big blob of rash :( He's totally playful though which is crazy!! But we took him in yesterday (Easter) to get it checked out just in case and they told us we pretty much just needed to wait it out but gave us a few things to look for such as, fever, getting worse, not being himself/playful, etc. We've been giving him some oatmeal baths and lotioning him up so hopefully the rash will go away soon!! So for his first Easter he was one big rashy boy (cute one though).





In Clearfield there was a big Easter egg hunt that we went to and then we went to Alisha's and did another small Easter egg hunt. Kellen had fun even though it was really cold!! We also decorated some eggs at Alisha's house the Friday before Easter. Kellen tried his first hard boiled egg.... didn't like the white, and only liked the yolk in small amounts, but it was definitely entertaining to watch!







Kyle got the job we've been waiting for since October!! He's going to be a correctional officer at the Draper Prison. He finally got through the entire interview process which included test after test such as physical tests, polygraphs, interviews, drug tests, etc. It was a VERY long and grueling process. Very very stressful time as well. But in March we finally got the good news that he got the job!! He started the academy on March 21st and there are three blocks. The first block ends this week!! And he will graduate the academy on June 30th. We are so excited and he is loving it so far! He carpools with a guy that lives in Bountiful and he's married and they have an adorable daughter who is only two weeks younger than Kellen. They play so great and i love the couple too! We all get along really well and it's so fun! We went to her birthday party Saturday and Kellen had SO much fun with the balloons!!!





I now work at a daycare now so I can take Kellen with me. It has been so much fun working there! Stressful at times but overall really fun. I work with my friend April so it's nice to know somebody and we work together really well. I just finished another semester of school and am taking the summer off! I am going to be starting to sell Usborne children's books soon and i'm so excited! We are hoping to get a few bills paid off by the end of this year so we can hopefully either buy or build a home in Eagle Mountain at the beginning of next year!! My friend just finished building a house out there and love it so we are hoping to follow in their footsteps so Kyle doesn't have such a commute to work. Kyle is hoping to buy a motorcylce fairly soon as well, two of my brother in laws just bought one and now Kyle is overly antsy about getting one himself because he's been wanting one FOREVER. Now that he has such a commute we figure it will save us a lot of money on gas, so that's about it for now!!!
